Our myMAP model for personalised learning is founded on the principles of mastery, autonomy and purpose. Personalised learning has its roots in the best practices in education and has the capacity to let each student’s learning experience be one that promotes growth and success, by providing an educational path that reflects their needs, interests and aspirations.

Personalised Learning and Support

Our Personalised Learning team endeavours to support all students who would benefit from a personalised approach by supporting them to optimise their educational potential. This is inclusive of students with diverse learning, cultural and support needs, together with those considered likely to achieve exceptional academic outcomes.

Senior Pathways

As students enter their senior school years, they can personalise their VCE journey by selecting an academic VCE, or the applied learning centred VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), or the specialised Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC). These courses have within them, the possibility of engaging in Vocational Education and Training (VET) or a School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT’s).
There is also the option to complete accelerated VCE studies within the myMAP years, and to enter accelerated university subjects during VCE that contribute to students’ ATARs. 

Boarding

Our College’s modern boarding houses, built to create large family style homes, are home to a community of 70 boarders from all over Austra­lia. Our dedicated and experienced staff provide care and support to our boarders, working together to help them achieve their goals they learn independence, develop resilience, and build lifetime friends.

Co-Curricular

SPORT:
Assumption College has a longstanding reputation for sports excellence – a diverse sports program built on the foundation of rich history and tradition. Our students compete, excel and achieve greatness in a variety of sports, including our sporting co-curriculars such as, Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Cross-Country, Equestrian, Basketball, Tennis, Soccer, Swimming, Volleyball, and Touch Rugby.
MUSIC:
Students explore music is all its facets; vocal, instrumental, performance and recording, with numerous bands and ensembles for students to join, depending on their years level, and singers can join the choir or work on their solo vocal performances.
THEATRE:
Students with a passion for acting and theatre will find fantastic performance opportunities to expand their skills through improvisation, collaboration and a shared passion for the Performing Arts.  Each year, we stage either a junior or senior drama production for students to be involved as a performer showcasing skills across dance, drama and music, or backstage as a member of the crew creating costumes, sets and props.
DANCE:
The Co-Curricular Dance program is open to all students from years 7-12 from beginners to students with many years of experience, working collaboratively to create an annual dance concert performed at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre in September. 
PHOTOGRAPHY:
Photography co-curricular is open to students from Years 8-12. The student photography team collaborates to enhance their creative and technical skills, and to capture the essence of events beyond daily College life. The work is featured prominently on social media and in official publications, such as the College yearbook.
DEBATING:
Assumption College is a member of the Debating Association of Victoria’s school competition. We compete against other schools in the Watsonia competition, with opportunities to compete across the state in five debates a year with additional debates should we make the finals.
