Wesley College - Elsternwick Campus

Elsternwick Campus

Nestled among quiet, tree-lined streets on Boon Wurrung Country, our Elsternwick Campus is a warm and welcoming learning environment.

Comprising an Early Childhood Learning Centre, Junior School and Middle School, approximately 400 girls and boys from three years old to Year 9 thrive within Elsternwick’s strong and close-knit community.

Supporting young minds during a crucial stage of development, our high teacher-to-student ratio provides students with the individualised care they need to flourish.

After Year 9, Elsternwick students continue to Year 10 at their choice of Wesley’s St Kilda Road or Glen Waverley campuses, where they are guaranteed a place. A comprehensive transition program supports Year 9 students in a confident start to Senior School.

Tertiary course offers

Many of our Year 12 students have received their first choice university offers from Melbourne's top universities. With nearly 60% of our students attending The University of Melbourne or Monash University, this reflects the high academic standard of teaching and learning at the college.
In the middle years students choose between the IB Diploma Program (IB DP) or Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) as they progress into the Senior School depending on their interests, strengths and aspirations.

Curriculum

At Wesley, we offer a comprehensive curriculum, which supports individual learning and enables students to reach their potential. A rich variety of opportunities are offered within an innovative and caring environment. Individual needs are supported through a range of extension and enrichment programs.

Wesley College is a leading International Baccalaureate (IB) and VCE school, and is the only school in Victoria to offer an IB Programme which spans from Primary through to Senior School.

Our world-class IB Programme includes:
• The IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) — Three year-olds to Year 6
• The IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) — Years 7 to 10
• The IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) — Years 11 and 12

The IB Programme applies Wesley’s ethos of a True Education, providing a balanced approach to learning, with an emphasis on developing the whole person. It aims to instill in our students inquiring, internationally-minded thinking, in order to become active, compassionate, global citizens.

Co-curricular

The College supports students’ learning through a wide range of cocurricular programs, including visual and performing arts, sport, music, outdoor education and community service.

Wellbeing

At Wesley, we encourage behaviours that positively influence the learning and wellbeing of self and others to promote a safe, inclusive, supportive and cohesive learning community.

Our approach to learning and wellbeing is captured in the acronym ROAR (Respect, Opportunity, Achievement and Resilience). The ROAR approach to wellbeing complements the IB philosophy, recognising that learning and wellbeing work in unison to support confident, capable students. It is not simply what we teach, but how we teach, interact and connect. It ensures that every member of the Wesley community holds responsibility for developing their own wellbeing and contributing meaningfully to the wellbeing of others.
