Our Mission

Our mission is to educate and prepare students to be the best they are called alongside our values of Faith, Acceptance, Compassion and Excellence (FACE). The College motto Many Minds, One Heart embraces the DNA of our community.

Curriculum

Caroline Chisholm Catholic College encourages every student to strive for excellence and fulfil their potential, no matter where their individual talents and interests lie – whether academically with STEM subjects - science, technology, English and mathematics, artistically through music and drama, hands-on in the trade training centre or in out-of-classroom areas such as sport and social justice.

The College offers more than 52 VCE subjects, along with VET and VCAL programs, as well as opportunities to study university units in Year 12.

Academically gifted students are encouraged to participate in our accelerated educational and enrichment programs, while dedicated teachers and learning support staff provide extra help to those who need it.

We use a personalised learning approach, tailoring support to the learning needs, interests and readiness of each student with the goal of improving their ability to create, remember, understand and apply information.

Co-curricula

Students are encouraged to be the best they are called to be – both inside and outside the classroom, through opportunities including international exchange, musicals, debating, sports, volunteering, book, chess and science clubs, student leadership positions and more.

In addition to core subjects, the College offers sports, music, visual and performing arts, languages other than English, such as Italian, Japanese and Vietnamese, technologies and other hands-on co curriculum options.

Academic Performance

The 2019 VCE cohort produced outstanding study scores and once again improved on its median study score.

More than 90 percent of students go onto tertiary education. Our 2019 Dux achieved an ATAR of 97.2 and 23 students received a study score of 40+.

We also offer the option of VCAL qualifications for students who aspire to a career in the trades. Success in VCAL is strong with many receiving on-going employment.

Student Wellbeing

Our teachers and leadership team care about each student, not just as a learner, but as a whole person.

Those joining the school at Year 7 enjoy a special transition program to help them form new friendships and get to know each other.

Initiatives such as breakfast clubs, parent workshops, free group tutoring, and swimming lessons and two new migrant and refugee coordinators, assist the newest members of our community. The College employs a dedicated team to ensure each student is happy, safe and feels they belong, including learning support officers, literacy and numeracy support staff, English as Additional Language (EAL) teachers, psychologists, social workers and family liaison staff directed by a new Deputy Principal of Community Engagement.

Caroline Chisholm Catholic College has now embedded a web-based parent portal Compass so parents can be actively view their child’s daily activities, attendance and view school reports online.
