About St Stephen's School

St Stephen’s School is one of the largest and most respected independent co-educational schools in Western Australia. Situated on beautifully established landscaped grounds in the northern Perth suburbs of Duncraig and Carramar, St Stephen’s School caters for Kindergarten to Year 12 students, founded on Christian values in the Uniting Church tradition.

Since its founding in 1984, St Stephen’s School has developed a reputation for outstanding pastoral care, a commitment to academic excellence and a culture within the School for growing people and encouraging the individual talents of each student to develop intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically.

Curriculum

St Stephen’s School offers an educational experience designed to inspire individual achievement and confidence for life. Our extensive range of programs – academic, sports, music and arts, outdoor education and service – gives students the opportunity to learn, to achieve and to develop their unique skills and talents. The curriculum at St Stephen’s School is designed to engage students’ learning and has a strong focus on Information and Communication Technology.

Culture

Right from the beginning of a child’s education in the Early Learning Centre, we acknowledge the importance of care in a safe and encouraging environment where each child is inspired to learn today for tomorrow, with heads, hearts and hands. The core values of Learning, Faith, Care, Service and Community underpin the teaching and learning at St Stephen’s School where the teachers and members of staff serve as role models and mentors as well as quality educators committed to striving for excellence for serving others.

Community

There is a strong sense of connectedness and community between St Stephen’s School and the wider community. Consistent expectations of students across the whole school, in addition to the unique House structure operating from Kindergarten to Year 12, also aim to encourage continuity and connectedness across the age groups.

Leadership

Central to the successful care of students is the Schools’ leadership structure. Both campuses in the Secondary School comprise a Head of Secondary, a Deputy Head of Learning and Curriculum and a Deputy Head of Care. This structure, inclusive of the Deans and Heads of Learning Areas at each campus, reflects the School’s strong emphasis on care of students and on achieving academic excellence.
