As part of it's mission, Killester College aims to offer educational experiences that develop creativity, intiative and love for learning. Our curriculum provides a broad education to assist students in understanding the world in which they live.
Underlying our curriculum is the belief that teachers need to explicity develop in our students engagement, assertiveness, resilience, and a positive sense of self, being cognisant of gender issues and the spirituality of our students.
As a result, curriculum at Killester has four purposes:
1. To develop knowledge, values and skills
2. To engender a love of learning for it's own sake
3. To contribute to the formation of citizens who are aware of their role as members of a community and democratic society
4. To prepare our young people for further study and/or the workplace. |

Our Religious Education Program is the cornerstone of our existence as a Catholic school. Students undertake compulsory Religious education studies from years 7 to 12 inclusive. The spiritual and religious enrichment of our students is a priority. The development of values and spirituality is fostered across the curriculum, in addition to the formal religious education program.
Students are encouraged to live out the gospel values in their daily lives and have Jesus and the life of St Brigid as examples and sources of inspiration. |

Killester offers a broad range of co-curricular opportunities for students to participate in. These include the arts and in particular a comprehensive music program and a bi-annual school production.
Our sporting program includes day competitions as well as an after school round robin competition. Sports involved include: Athletics, Swimming, Netball, Basketball, Cricket, AFL, Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis, Softball and Cross Country.
The college also provides opportunities in such areas as public speaking and debating as well as Social Justice activities such as St Vincent De Paul and a Justice and Democracy committee.
Students are encouraged to participate in these offerings and in doing so engage more fully in the life of the college. |

Killester College is committed to developing a strong sense of social justice and community amongst it's students. As part of the Year 9 curriculum, students participate in a community involvement program which introduces them to the challenges of social justice issues in their local community.
Students belonging to the Justice and Democracy group assist with an outreach program to support the very needy in our local community and in doing so also link the college with the local parish.
Killester has recently developed a Family Learning Centre which provides opportunities to link local families to the college as well as linking the college with the community. This takes the form of programs as well as support services. |
