Welcome to Hennessy Catholic College

Welcome to Hennessy Catholic College, a comprehensive Catholic school for students from Years 7 - 12. Hennessy is a regional college proudly catering for students from Young, Boorowa, Cootamundra, Harden-Murrumburrah, Grenfell and surrounding towns.

Our college retains the beautiful buildings that were the former convent of the Presentation Sisters, and the legacy of our Catholic roots is evident across the grounds and the community.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to ‘Live Spiritually, Learn Dynamically and Act Justly … inspiring futures of hope’. This vision guides everything we do. As a Catholic school in the traditions of Nano Nagle and Edmund Rice, we strive to live lives modelled on their examples.

Live spiritually

* Loving God’s gift of life and creation
* Understanding and celebrating our Catholic faith and heritage
* Provoking a reflective Christian response to the challenges of today’s world
* Living Christian values of justice, respect and service
* Fostering pride and spirit in our College
* Encouraging active involvement in our regional parishes.

Learn dynamically

* Through innovative and contemporary teaching and learning practices
* Achieving personal excellence
* Developing independent, creative and reflective learners
* Inspiring a continued love of learning
* In an enjoyable, safe and structured learning environment
* Promoting global perspectives.

Act justly

* Valuing uniqueness, dignity, and achievement
* Developing a genuine sense of belonging
* Using respectful and effective communication
* Nurturing an open home/school partnership
* Empowering all through shared leadership and responsibility
* Respecting cultural and social diversity.

Wellbeing at Hennessy

At Hennessy we value and foster the wellbeing of each and every student. Each student is a member of a Pastoral Care (PC) Class that meets every morning and consists of students from Year 7 to 12. Students remain in their PC class for their 6 year journey at the College, building strong bonds with their peers and PC teacher. Students transform from being supported by, to becoming the leaders within their PC, House and the College. The PC teacher works in partnership with the student and parent and should be the first point of contact for any concerns.
