At the Australian Industry Trade College (AITC), we give rise to a New Breed of Apprentice incorporating Traditional Values, Education and Good Work Ethic.
The AITC offers:-
• Opportunities for young people who are choosing Trades as their career of first choice while completing their senior studies, and
• Opportunities for Industry looking for an improved standard of apprentice.
An AITC graduate will be:-
• Keen to work,
• Productive in the workplace,
• Educated to a senior level (receiving their Queensland School Certificate),
• Experienced in the industry of their choice (over 1500 hrs completed), and
• Focused on a long-term career in the industry.
The AITC will provide extensive industry support for each student with a dedicated Case Manager. The Case Manager will provide leadership and support for them as they commence the process of entering the workforce.
This unique and flexible cirriculum has been developed to meet the needs of Industry and provides the student-apprentices' with trade training and work placement.

Education and Opportunities

The AITC commences with 150 young people in Year 11 each year and takes them on a journey that is currently unique in Australian schooling. This journey of learning, industry training experience and growing into the real world over two years, gives students the opportunity of graduating with the following:
• A Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
• Gain significant work experience in Industry for extended blocks of time (eg: four weeks schooling - four weeks on the job alternating throughout the year), which becomes an apprenticeship
• Earn an apprentice wage for time spent at work with employer
• Certificate II in Business and Certificate II in Information Technology
• Significant networks within the industry of their choice
• First Aid Certification
• Completion of up to 30% of Certificate III in Trade Training*
• A focus on a career rather than just a job

Our flexible timetable is especially designed to give students a head start into an apprenticeship while completing their senior education.
