Since 1875, the girls of Presbyterian Ladies’ College have enjoyed an outstanding education within a caring and vibrant College community. Today, PLC not only builds on those fine traditions, it is also responsive to the needs of girls who will grow up in tomorrow’s world.
Pastoral care and the welfare of our students are fundamental to our philosophy and underpin the extensive curricular and co-curricular programs available to students. PLC’s Christian foundation sees expression in student Christian groups and community fellowship events. These encourage spiritual development in an environment that welcomes girls of all faiths. |
 |
|
In the Junior School, PLC provides strong early literacy and numeracy programs, whilst in the Senior School, girls benefit from a strong core curriculum that prepares them for either the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the International Baccalaureate (IB). |

• 20% of all girls achieved an ENTER of 99+
• 29% of all girls achieved an ENTER of 98+

SPORTS
Sporting skills, physical health and fitness and an understanding of the importance of teamwork are integral to a healthy lifestyle and are emphasised in our broad range of sporting programs.
PERFORMING ARTS
In 2009, girls participated in productions including the College’s own staging of the Caucasion Chalk Circle and Snow White as well as West Side Story and Peter Pan with boys at Scotch College. In 2010, the major musical is The Sound of Music. House Concerts are a highlight with girls undertaking every aspect of the creative development – script writing, acting, music, singing and dancing, backdrops, props and direction – of these ‘mini musicals’.
The College also encourages girls to explore their love of music, whether it is singing in choirs, playing in their own rock band or jazz group, composing music, performing in orchestras or simply perfecting their skills on one of many musical instruments from which they can choose.
OUTDOOR EDUCATION
The sequential Outdoor Education program begins with a Year 3, two day, overnight camp at the Lady Northcote Recreation camp at Rowsley and carries through to the Year 11 Leadership Camp. From Years 4-12 there is a wide range of outdoor, adventure, curriculum and special interest camps. |

Located in a delightful garden setting, the brand new Boarding House, opened in 2008, provides a modern, friendly and safe environment for over 100 girls from regional Australia and overseas. Boarders have access to the College’s extensive recreational and sporting facilities as well as computers for study needs. Girls in year 11 & 12 have individual bedrooms and private recreational and study areas. |

Private buses transport girls from many suburbs directly into the College’s grounds whilst the No. 75 East Burwood tram and public buses from Box Hill station pass the school gates. |
