The Perth College Boarding House prides itself on it's warmth and 'home away from home' environment with our girls coming from all around Western Australia with a capacity of 113 girls.
A feature of a Perth College boarding education is the value placed on the development of responsibility, community and challenge. The 'On Board' programme is designed to teach our girls more about themselves, to develop self-esteem, to appreciate and experience the ways in which they can contribute to their immediate and wider community and ultimately how to lead by example and manage senior roles of leadership in preparation for life beyond Perth College. At the start of the course we focus on community living, domestic skill acquisition, positive thinking and a practical environmental project. They then have opportunities to work with individuals and groups in the wider community, attend Leadership Camps and organise events for the School community, mentor new Boarders and learn how to lead the Boarding Community in their final year.

Old Girls' Association

The Old Girls' Association (OGA) is located on the Perth College Campus within Myalla House, and currently has over 3,500 members, most of whom are life members.
In 2013, OGA will celebrate their centenary with many planned events scheduled to mark the occasion.
OGA arrange many fundraising and social functions throughout the year including the 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 year reunions held in WA, interstate and overseas.

Announcements:

Perth College is the oldest independent girls' school in Western Australia and during 2012, the School is celebrating 110 years of educating remarkable women.

After 18 months of sound research, Perth College has launched Western Australia’s first sequential self-leadership programme for women.  InsideOut is the first stage of the Centre of Excellence for Women, providing opportunities for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. Girls will learn throughout a range of workshops, seminars, experiential learning and self-leadership opportunities. This is to reflect the girls inner development to outer excellence, which will provide our girls with the skills to lead themselves; to cope with challenges; to be more resilient; become stronger; more capable, whilst also giving the girls real skills to make a difference in society, which will also benefit overall academic performance.
A key aspect of InsideOut is our collaboration with the University of Western Australia, who is undertaking a research project with Perth College to evaluate the quantitative difference of self-leadership training, which will provide us with measurable outcomes.

Prospective families are welcome to attend our Information Sessions and Community Tours held throughout the year.  Available dates are:  16 May, 27 June, 15 August, 19 September and 24 October.  Commencing at 9.00am the Principal will welcome guests and undertake a presentation regarding InsideOut.  A school tour will commence at 9.30am followed by refreshments.

Open Day 2013 is scheduled for the Monday 4 March, Labour Day Public Holiday.  This is a unique oppportunity to see the School in action, with students attending regular classes, along with special performances/activities scheduled throughout the day.
