Sport and outdoor pursuits provide an important balance between the academic and co-curricular programs at Murdoch College.
Participation in physical activities contributes to the health and well being of young people and helps to develop team spirit, leadership qualities and a sense of fair play. Many Murdoch College students join an extra-curricular sport team, with coaching and competitions taking place after school.
Community involvement is actively encouraged and our Year 10 students in particular are guided into programs that allow them to interact thoughtfully with the local community. Red Cross, Aged Care and local primary schools are among the beneficiaries of supervised volunteer work by our students, while the College’s Rotary Interact chapter undertakes a number of initiatives each year. |

We place significant emphasis on developing self-esteem, confidence, initiative and leadership qualities in our students. We believe that students should be aware of their own talents and strengths as well as appreciate the value of their peers and those in their wider circle.
The co-curricular program at Murdoch College is designed to promote these individual qualities by engaging students in tasks, activities and clubs, which allow them to develop specific skills under expert guidance.
The activities fall into the following categories:
• Academic enhancement and enrichment
• Performing and visual arts
• Physical and recreational activities
• Business and technology
• Community volunteer work
