Moreton Bay College is a Uniting Church school for girls, located in the beautiful Brisbane Bayside location of Manly West.

Set in fifty acres of landscaped gardens, MBC boasts first-class facilities and a multitude of curricular and co-curricular pursuits, providing a challenging, supporting and inspiring learning environment for young women from Prep to Year 12.

Our diverse and contemporary educational program reflects the best aspects of our school’s heritage, while recognising the particular needs of girls who will contribute to an ever-changing society.

Through the provision of a stimulating, secure and supportive learning environment based on Christian principles and beliefs, Moreton Bay College aims to provide each girl with the opportunity to develop qualities of compassion, respect, tolerance, dignity, self-worth and confidence.

Curriculum

The College curriculum provides a comprehensive program at all levels - to stimulate, inspire, motivate and push the boundaries of the girls’ cognitive, affective and physical abilities. With the highest possible standards of intellectual education, intimately linked to the full development of our girls’ personal character and integrity, every Moreton Bay graduate can meet her future with positive self-esteem and confidence in her own abilities.

Facilities

The Moreton Bay College philosophy promotes the all-rounded development of students and, in doing so, boasts some of the best academic, cultural and sporting facilities in Queensland, set amongst 20 hectares of native trees, shrubs, green ovals and landscaped gardens.

Specialised facilities include the Ken and Janet Waller Sports Centre, the 500 seat Music Centre, the John Mason Pool, an outdoor netball and tennis complex, dedicated computer and science labs and the Alice J Alison Greene Secondary Library building.

Co-Curricular Activities

At Moreton Bay College we are confident that each girl’s participation in co-curricular pursuits, whether at a beginner, intermediate or elite level, encourages her to strive for personal goals, fosters teamwork and gives her exposure to the qualities of perseverance, determination, commitment and fair play.

The College has a proud tradition of wide co-curricular choice in both the cultural and sporting arenas, and today it offers one of the best ranges of co-curricular activities in the State. In principle, we advocate a broad and balanced educational and co-curricular program, one which supports and nurtures the development of the complete young adult.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is interwoven into the very fabric of Moreton Bay College and is seen as a collaborative partnership between students, parents and staff. We strive to create a community where girls feel safe, valued, connected, have a strong sense of belonging and of being valued and listened to. Academic Excellence

The strong work ethic and commitment to excellence of students and teachers saw MBC heralded as the top academic achiever in Queensland for 2008 (as reported by The Courier Mail, 5 May 2009), with 97% of OP eligible students achieving an OP of 15 or better.
