St Luke’s Grammar School is an Anglican, Co-Educational School from Pre-Kindergarten through to Year 12.
The 2009 HSC results are in and once again, St Luke’s Grammar School in Dee Why, has been ranked as the top independent school on the Northern Beaches. The School has also moved up 7 places on the Herald’s “Top 100” schools list, coming in at 57th out of over 800 schools.

St Luke's Grammar School comprises of 3 campuses on the one site. The Junior School at St Luke’s, from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 5, caters for 350 boys and girls (two classes per grade, with approximately 25 students per class). This enables teachers to focus on each individual child, to ensure they feel valued and connected.
Junior School students then gain automatic entry to the Middle School (Years 6 to 9) and Senior School (Years 10 to 12) campuses, where the focus of the experienced and professional teachers is to add value to the learning outcomes of an additional 550 students, as they work towards their HSC and prepare for life beyond the School gate. |

St Luke's has ultra modern facilities and state- of-the-art technology, including:
• Fully equipped specialist rooms and laboratories for Science (4), Music, Computing, Drama and Visual Arts.
• Technology Centre - caters for all Design, Technology, Technics and Textiles courses.
• Well resourced Library and Information Centre - contains Internet facilities, networked computer workstations and video links to all classrooms.
• Multipurpose hall that is used extensively for drama, music and sports - incorporates a basketball court, full stage facilities and seating for 1000.
Computers are seen as important part of an integrated curriculum as well as an important subject in their own right. The School has 4 newly upgraded dedicated computer laboratories, incorporating Pentium, scanning, multimedia and high speed Internet facilities. More recently, the School has introduced Wireless reception, with trolleys of laptops available for use in most classrooms.
The Science labs and library have their own facilities. All classrooms in the Junior and Middle School have Inter-Active Whiteboards as do all specialist areas in the Senior School. |

St Luke's caters to the individual needs, talents and abilities of students. Some of our distinctive offerings are:
• Academic and Music scholarships into Years 7 and Year 11.

• Differentiated curriculum - utilised within classrooms to cater for those that need further extension or additional support.

St Luke’s Grammar Junior School is a nurturing, dynamic and busy environment. The Junior School’s pupils range from Cottage (a school readiness programme for four year olds) to Year 5. Exciting learning topics include:
Cottage (Pre-Kindergarten):
• English – pre-reading, pre-writing, talking and listening.
• Mathematics – to develop children’s thinking, understanding, competence and confidence with numbers, shapes, patterns and measurement.
• Creative Arts – Providing children with experiences in visual art, music, drama and dance.
• Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) – children develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to lead active, fulfilling and healthy lives.
• Specialist Lessons – children have weekly lessons with specialist teachers in
• Indonesian, Christian Studies, Physical Education and Library.
• Technology (ICT) – the use of technology is introduced and used to reinforce Literacy and Numeracy during developmental play time.
Years K–5: The Junior School follows the Board of Studies Key Learning Areas, with a special emphasis on numeracy and literacy. The children have a broad and varied academic curriculum in English, Mathematics, Human Society and its Environment, Creative and Practical Arts, Science and Technology, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. In addition, students have specialist teachers in Indonesian, Christian Studies, Gymnastics, Physical Education and Music. Fun programs in swimming and music are also provided. |

St Luke's Middle School caters for students in years 6 to 9. Our Middle School has a clear brief for the specific and unique needs of the older child and young teenager at a time when there are profound changes in their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
Subjects include: English, Mathematics, Science (incl Marine Biology) Christian Studies, Careers, PD/H/PE, Commerce, French, Indonesian, Computing Studies, Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Textiles and Design, Technics, Technology, Physical Activity and Sports Studies, History and Geography.
The Senior School provides a supportive academic environment where students have many opportunities to excel in their studies and pursue personal interests.
Subjects include: English [all levels] Mathematics (all levels), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Ancient and Modern History, Extension History, Economics, Music, Geography, Visual Design, Information Processes & Technology, Software Design and Development, PD/H/PE, Sport Lifestyle and Recreation Studies, Drama, Business Studies, Legal Studies. There is an abundant variety of sports for students from which to choose including: Basketball, Tennis, Swimming, Netball, Softball, Gymnastics, Rugby Union, Athletics, Cross-Country, Weights Training, Water Polo, Cricket, Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer, Squash, plus beach and water sports.
There is no compulsory Saturday sport.
St Luke’s also has representative teams in Sailing, Snow Sports and Equestrian.
Students also have a range of extra curricular activities where they can pursue and develop their interests, including: Music (Including Individualised Instrumental tuition), Debating, Public Speaking, Drama, Dance, Tennis Lessons, Mandarin & Other Languages lessons, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Amnesty International, Musical, Band, Choir, World Vision, Chess, Bushwalking, School Fellowship, Bike For Bibles Cycle Marathon, Mission Aid Group, Art Club, Woodwork Club, Multi-media Club, Library Networkers.
