Introducing Roseville College

Roseville College is an Anglican School for Girls in Kindergarten to Year 12. Founded in 1908, our established College features a welcoming school community of 800 girls and upholds a mission to provide girls with a contemporary, dynamic and relevant learning experience marked by a passion for excellence, and grounded in the ethos and values of the Christian faith.

Our vision is to encourage and enable every girl to reach her potential, and nurture her towards being a woman rich in character, wisdom, faith and action, with a heartfelt commitment to service within the wider community.

Educational Profile

Roseville College is a non-selective school which enjoys consistently strong co-curricular and academic results, culminating in the HSC. Importantly, our graduates credit the School with developing in them qualities such as optimism, a spirit of inquiry, wisdom and personal accountability, a concern for others, and the courage and confidence to “have a go”. Girls are encouraged to explore academic, sporting, creative, leadership, community and personal development opportunities throughout their schooling. Consequently, they develop a strong sense of belonging, ownership and connection to the College and one another.

Location and Facilities

Centrally located in the established suburb of Roseville on Sydney’s North Shore, adjacent arterial roads and train lines which enable an easy commute from the Upper and Lower North Shore areas, as well as Ryde, Lane Cove and Manly Warringah. The 1.9 hectare campus features a new Junior School Complex, Middle School Technology Complex, Senior Girls’ Study and Recreation Area, Multi-purpose Hall and Chapel, the new Joy Yeo Centre (a performing arts and educational facility featuring a 350 seat auditorium, drama and recording studios), Creative Arts Centre, Information Resource Centre, a heated swimming pool and multi-purpose outdoor courts.

Curricular Choice and Leadership Development

Roseville offers students a rigorous curriculum complemented by elective choices in Senior School and a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular options. All students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are offered a balanced education that includes academic, sporting, outdoor adventure, cultural arts and pastoral care. In addition to the school’s Student Council and Student Leadership Teams in Junior and Senior years, leadership development is nurtured through co-curricular and extra-curricular sports, adventure learning, community service learning, cultural endeavours and pastoral care initiatives. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Antipodeans Abroad, Mock Trial, Model United Nations Assembly, Tournament of Minds, Crusaders and Community Service Learning programs are very popular. Please contact our Registrar for current subject and elective lists.

Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Opportunities

Students are encouraged to extend themselves and explore areas of natural ability and/or interest, with numerous curricular and extra-curricular opportunities available. Sport is very popular at Roseville, ranging from traditional sports (eg. Netball, Softball, Tennis, Hockey, Swimming, Athletics, Gymnastics, Basketball, Soccer, Cross Country, Touch Football, and Rowing) to contemporary lifestyle activities (eg. Beach Volleyball, Dance, Lifesaving, Fitness Pilates, Surfing, Ten Pin Bowling, Tae Kwan Do, Yoga; available in different years). The Cultural Arts are also very popular, with students involved in an abundance of activities including Visual Arts, Photography, Performing Arts, Dance, Speech and Elocution, Debating, Drama and Theatre, Plays and Musical Productions, Musicianship and choral tuition, Choirs, Orchestras, Wind Ensemble, Strings (from Year 3), Anime and Languages Club, Antipodeans Abroad.

Pastoral Care, Personal Development and Student Welfare

Roseville College’s pastoral structure spans Kindergarten, with a transition buddy system, to Year 12’s Pastoral and Career Advisory services. It also includes a school wide Christian Studies program. We seek to provide active guidance and support to each student through a varied offering that includes student chaplaincy services, outdoor education adventures and camps, established leadership and peer network programs to foster positive connections, careers guidance (including work experience and careers evenings), pastoral care seminars and events, community service and philanthropic activities. We seek to enhance each girl’s time at school, and help them prepare for the future by nurturing practical life and interpersonal skills.
