Broad Curriculum The School provides opportunities and resources to enhance the academic, spiritual and social development of each student. A rich curriculum seeks to enable all students to achieve their potential. Academically, the School strives to offer a wide range of traditional subjects to allow the maximum development of each individual. A balance of Science and Humanities based subjects are complemented by Languages, Visual Arts and Music. Elective subjects and a range of co-curricular programs are provided to supplement the NSW Board of Studies mandatory curriculum. Learning support and enrichment programs are provided to cater for the varying needs of our students. Interesting Extra Curricular Activities Georges River Grammar has a wide range of extra curricular activities. The school has a highly active Debating and Public Speaking culture and is regarded as one of the best schools in the region for developing these skills. Other activities include Cadets, Duke of Edinburgh, Mock Trials, Variety Club, Book Club and Chess Club. There is also a full range of competitive sports and excellent playing fields. Excellent Pastoral Care Pastoral care commences with transition to school where students learn about settling in to school life, making friends, interacting cooperatively with others and living safely. In the Primary and Junior Secondary School, the Pastoral Care Program includes conflict resolution, problem solving and dealing with life’s dynamics. Social responsibility, goal setting and spirituality are melded into everyday school life. Modern Facilities The School continually invests in new technology, including specialist computer rooms, a laptop program, interactive whiteboards and a wireless network. The recent addition of a state of the art commercial kitchen has enabled the expansion of VET courses. We also have a new Creative Arts area for Music and Drama.   Announcements: Our New Name In January 2011, Bankstown Grammar School changed its name to Georges River Grammar. Bankstown Grammar School had long outgrown its local name and drawing area of Bankstown. The new name of “Georges River Grammar” was recognition of this change.
